There are three main components needed to process payments online.
- Business Checking Account With ACH (Automated Clearing House) Capability
- Merchant Bank Account That Will Accept Card Not Present Transactions
- Payment Gateway Service
Your customer orders your product and elects to pay with a credit card.
The credit card information is passed from your site to your merchant
bank via the payment gateway. The merchant bank contacts the issuer
to authorize the transaction. After approval, the merchant bank deposits
the funds, less discount rates, into your business checking account.
How
Authorize.Net processes transactions:
- Authorize.Net detects an order has been placed, securely encrypts
and forwards the Authorization Request to the Consumers Credit
Card Issuer to verify the consumers credit card account and
funds availability.
- The Authorization (or Decline) Response is returned via Authorize.Net
to the Merchant. (Roundtrip, this process averages less than three
seconds).
- Upon approval, the Merchant fulfills the consumers order.
- Authorize.Net sends the settlement request to the Merchant Account
Provider.
- The Merchant Account Provider deposits transaction funds into the
Merchants Checking Account.

Through our affiliation with Authorize.net and Wells Fargo Bank, WWWeb
